St. Patrick’s Day in Munich

Even booking last minute (2-3 days before) the bahn train was super easy booking online to hop two hours over to Munich for the day for the St. Patrick's Day Parade. Reserving our seats on the way back in the evening was worth it too. It cost a few euros more but when traveling with... Continue Reading →

Augsburg Germany Christkindlesmarkt

Augsburg was a must visit since we moved to Germany because it's where my aunt and uncle were born when my family was stationed near Ulm after the war. The Augsburg “Christkindlesmarkt” or Christmas market, is also turned out to be one of my top favorites of the year. Driving from Stuttgart, it takes about two... Continue Reading →

Munich’s Christmas Market

The Christkindlmarkt at Marienplatz in Munich begins Thanksgiving weekend and runs through Christmas. The market booths run throughout the shopping streets and are a bit spread out. Needless to say, flights were pricey and hotel options... Continue Reading →

July marks not only the most important holiday of the year other than Christmas -my birthday- but also our four going on 15 year anniversary. Since we never celebrate anything alone, it was only fitting that the parents and grandma (87!) headed over to Germany to visit most of the entire month separately. Thanks to everyone... Roadtrip: Luxembourg City, Luxembourg

In under 4 hours drive from Stuttgart is Luxembourg. Luxembourg brings the count up for our one country per month travel right on track to 8 not including the US trips, or the previously planned trip through Greece before the job move to Germany. An update, I began working full time now as well, and... Continue Reading →

A Weekend in Colmar, France

Let me start by saying I love France. As soon as you cross the border driving in over the Rhine river toward the Alsace wine country from Germany to France, the air feels different.  The scenery changes to rolling hills, fields, vineyards and cypress trees.  There are visible castles or ruins along the way at...
